If your looking for a challenging game I would highly recommend the game of go.
Go, Baduk , Weiqi is a strategy board game. If you like chess or critical thinking you can learn to play this here. Once you have the basics down you can play on the KGS server for free against others. There are a lot of sources of information out there and even more opinions on what to study or learn. I would suggest GoChild as it has something for every level of play. Also the study of professional games is a good way to improve here one site with games to look over and its brother site.

Side note : Croff (will introduce him later) teaches Coridan the game of stones (go). Each of their respected play styles are like night in day. Passive vs Aggressive, in about four hundred games Coridan has yet to beat Croff, though many games have been close.
