Wizard Sticks Drinking Game

cropped-GS2logo.png

Also known as "Wiset Wizard" this is a fairly new drinking game that always results in the mass consumption of canned beverages.

Instructions and things you will need.
  • Friends
  • Minimum one 12 or 18 pack of canned beer per person ( We had 24 per person )
  • Tape (Duct or Packaging) per person
  • Multiple types of hard Alcohol
  • Shot Glass for each person
  • Bonus points if wizardesque clothing is worn!
Rules: At the beginning of the game, players decide on any special rules, including at which point a boss must be fought. Boss fighting will be discussed later but generally it happens every 3rd or 5th level.  As well, if a prize is to be played for, it should be presented or decided on before play begins. After rules are decided and agreed upon (might be a good idea to write them down in case any late comers come in as they are subject to all rules in play) Time to open your first beer.

Appropriate Wizard Lingo must be used whenever possible:
  •  "I'm feeling drunk" = "I'm feeling wise"
  • "I need another beer" = "I need to Level Up"
  • "Let's play Beirut" = "Let's play some Wizard Chess"
So on and so forth. Failure to adhere requires a shot or a shotgunned beer which cant be added to the rule breakers stick.

Continue this process to gain levels  as the Boss is defeated ( depending on what levels 3 or 5 ) it grants you a new title:
0-1 apprentice
2-5 Wizard
6-11 Senior Wizard
12-17 Magus
18+ Arch Magus

When a player has finished his or her first beverage they are now a "Level 1 Title". This is important since you can only call yourself a "Level X title" when you have finished X number of beers. They must then "Level Up" by retrieving a full beverage, placing it on top of the now empty can, and securely taping the two together. FYI one or two good wraps of duct tape where the cans meet is usually sufficient, you don't want to over do it or you'll run out. Game play continues in this manner, leveling up after finishing each beverage until the pre-determined "boss fighting" level has been reached.

Boss Fighting: This occurs once you are have finished your 5th beer, assuming you chose to fight a boss every 5th level (3rd beer for every 3rd, etc...). You cannot "Level Up" to a "Level 5 Wizard" (or whatever you chose) until you have fought a boss. This is done by choosing a hard liquor to take a shot of. Your choice is now called "Boss 'name of liquor'" i.e.: Jose Cuervo becomes either "Boss Jose" or "Boss Cuervo". Ideally, at least one other player will need to fight the boss with you, and it is considered acceptable to wait for them to finish a level to "fight" with you. As well, other players are encouraged to assist you in your "battle" with the boss, however doing so will not exempt them from fighting another boss when they reach the "boss fighting level". All players involved in the "battle" must pour a full shot of chosen liquor and then cheers and take it together. Once all shots are gone, the boss in considered defeated and all players needing to level up may now do so. Again, it's important to note that the boss comes at the end of the level; players "Leveling up" to Level 5 (or 3) will be getting their 6th (or 4th) beverage, and will retain "Level 5 Wizard" (or 3) status until they have finished it. No boss should be repeated until players have done battle with all available bosses.

An example of the Stick created throughout the drinking game.

Upon achieving level 4 the player is allowed to pick a 'Power Word'. This word can be anything and allows a player to command lower level players to do their bidding.

Upon reaching level 8 an additional power is granted. This new power allows the player to create a rule which the creator is then charged with enforcing. Players found not following the rule can then be forced to drink.

Upon reaching level 12 players become a Magus and may now create a Wizard Hat. The style is up to the player, however the Wizard Hat must be made out of empty Beer Cases
An example of the hat you can create during the drinking game.

Special Rules: As stated above, additional rules can be submitted at the beginning of the game to further enhance game play. All special rules and subsequent penalties for breaking the rule must be agreed upon by all players who are present at the beginning in order to be official. Any players arriving later in the game are automatically subjected to them.

Winning: In the end, everyone wins thanks to the copious amount of beverages that end up being consumed. However, the person who achieves the highest level is eligible to win a prize that was determined at the beginning of the game. This can either be by the end of the night/next morning or at a pre-determined time, depending on what works better for the game.

Mini-Games: Players may choose to play other drinking games while playing Wizard Sticks. This is acceptable and encouraged! However, the rules as to how many levels can be obtained by winning a game should be decided on in advance to avoid confrontations later on. Our favorite is "Wizard Chess" better know to the layman as Beirut or Beer Pong. No changes to the game are made, however the winners of each game are awarded two levels (in the form of empty cans) each to add to their staffs. Losers get nothing as they lost the match. Any other game may be played as long as the levels to be awarded at the end are pre-determined. Simple games such as Jacks and Fives do not need any additional levels to be awarded as drinking will commence in a usual manner.

Not So Gentle Introductions Part IV

I had to be careful not to incinerate this threat. At the same time I didn’t want to pull its attention onto me. To make matters worse, throw Kozak pinned beneath the feelpe. This left me with very few options left in my arsenal.

I began an incarnation to attempt to give Kozak a chance to get out from under the feelpes grasp. Each of my fingertips began to glow as fire arrows began to take form. I moved one of the fairy fires from the tree to the left of me to my target which was the inner hind leg which was pinning Kozak. I let the flames go banking on the splinters of flame wouldn’t injure Kozak to bad. Much to my dismay it had even a less effect as when my arrows hit the armor plated legs directing the flames away from the feelpe and Kozak.

Croff came behind Raddect and quickly began buffing up his reaction time and strength. He then quickly cast galevin armor on Raddect which had a regeneration aspect to it. Raddects wounds began to close up giving him a sigh of relief. With these spells in motion you could tell Raddect wasn’t fighting for his life anymore. He was keeping pace with the feelpes assault but not gaining any ground.

It hit me right then to twin cast flame arrow and magma sword enchantment with a delay mixed in. It took a few seconds to formulate the words needed for this as it was no regular spell. The moment I had the words on the tip of my tongue I spoke them and Raddects blades where superimposed with magma as soon as the arrow stuck them.

Raddect took a defensive posture not knowing exactly why I was throwing spells at him. The split second he realized what I had done he press his assault. It was here when we started to get this fight under control. The next claw the feelpe swung was met with Raddects blade and it sliced through the tough plates of armor and the feelpe wailed.

As the Creature wailed its claws pinning Kozak down set deeper into Kozak’s armor. The Fairy fire I had placed on the feelpe showed Kozak’s eyes turn red. His bloodlust had set in, a trait unique to Blood Ogre Clan. He grew almost triple in size. Making it hard for the creature to keep him pinned with one claw. Kozak pushed with his axe which pulled the claws out of his chest, Kozak roared in agony. Attentively Raddect noticed the creature shifting its weight to regain its balance from Kozaks sudden push. Raddect swung both of his blades in the same direction Kozak was pushing from and struck the shoulder of the feelpe. Each blade melting deep cuts through the shoulder plates of the feelpe. The Feelpe having no choice but to jump back, or fall over, jumped back catching its balance. In doing so spread both of its wings while letting out a ear shattering scream.

Kozak being freed quickly rose to his feet. His eyes where glowing red and the blood in his viens where all protruding from his skin. He gripped his axe with both hands and took a lunging swing at the beast that had him in deaths grasps for what must have seemed like days. Kozak landed a blow against the feelpes head with the side of his axe, knocking the creature back towards me.

Shaking its head from the blow it just received the feelpe turned towards me and began to jaunt in my direction. Raddect started to cast grasping thorns and Croffs force chant could be herd. With out thought my defensive magma shield went up protecting me by at least two feet. But the feelpe had no intention of attacking me it was fleeing. As it took to the air the vines and the glow of the pillars where both just out of reach.

I turned to cast but the midnight air and trees gave perfect cover for the dark black and blue feelpe. Pist that it had escaped I released the cyclone of flames into the sky. Kozak crashed to the ground exhausted with Croff not to far from him running to take care of all his wounds.

Raddect quickly took the soil the creature had bleed upon and waffed its scent across his face. “Ill have no problem finding that insolent creature now!” Raddect said with a sting in his voice.
